We have added another nice component for Membership Websites that shows all events that offer a discount to people with memberships. Here is an example from the Fusion Running Club:
This list shows any race who has a current discount offered for members of that club. Adding the list is simple – just pick the component (from the ever growing list) in the Website Builder – just point and click.
The component is simple and appears in the website builder. The list is dynamic and updates as more races offer discounts to your members. This allows membership organizations to put the list in multiple places and can be mixed with more flexible event lists that allow picking of specific races explained in this blog.
How Clubs and Member Organizations Use Member Discount Lists
Many running clubs have a number of races that they host. The club use the reinforcing benefit of club membership to give discounts to the races. The clubs also offer signup for new members while signing up for events so they can get a discount.
This capability to stay always updated also allows clubs to reach out to any race to partner with them. Races love having a channel to promote their races and are typically more than happy to offer a discount to club members and may also be open to allowing for signing up for the race and membership together.
How Races Use Member Discounts
Races should seek out the clubs in their area and make the offer of providing a discount to club members. If the club is one of the hundreds on RunSignup already, ask them if they use this new discount list component and your race will automatically be displayed.
There is also a convenient “Search for Clubs” available on the Club Discount dashboard to look for clubs in your area. This example search is a 25 miles radius of Washington DC:
How Multi-Race Organizations Can Use Member Discount Lists
Organizations that have multiple races can leverage a Membership Program where they can have a way to encourage multi-race participation and cross-sell. There are many ways to implement a program like this. On one end of the spectrum organizations can offer a free membership and minimal discounts to races. On the other end, organizations could offer a higher cost membership with a steep per race discount, or even free.
Summary
The Membership Organization product is becoming very powerful, especially for the endurance community. This capability to connect the many organizations, races and people together is a goal of RunSignup. As we move into 2025, we will be extending this capability to our TicketSignup product that will give event organizations even great flexibility.
