Bring Back My Fundraising Team

Bring Back My Fundraising Team makes it fast and easy for team captains to recreate their team from the previous year. Earlier this month, we released Bring Back My Individual Fundraiser. This same functionality is now available for fundraising teams. GiveSignup makes it easy for fundraising team captains to recreate team pages and recruit past team members so that they can started fundraising faster.

Bring Back My Fundraising Team Settings


Your Peer to Peer Fundraising Event can enable Bring Back My Team settings from the dashboard. Navigate to Fundraising >> Team Fundraisers >> Bring Back My Team Settings. Click the toggle to enable. By default, all the team settings are checked to bring over. You can select which settings should get copied from last year’s team page when a captain brings back their team.

Only previous team captains can bring back a fundraising team when signing up. GiveSignup recognizes returning fundraisers, and will prompt previous team captains to bring back their fundraising team. There is also an option to create a new fundraising team.

We recommend that P2P fundraising events encourage last year’s fundraising team captains to sign up early. You can do this with GiveSignup’s free Email Marketing. This makes it seamless to track teams year over year. Furthermore, it strengthens your event’s relationship with key fundraisers who recruit team members and help achieve fundraising goals. Recognition, early registration, and ease of team page setup help you keep your team fundraising captains returning each year.

After a team captain brings back their team, all previous team members will automatically have that team pre-selected when they sign up, with the option to join or create a different team.

Past Team Member Notification

You can also enable team fundraiser notifications. This notification gets sent to all of last year’s team members when a team captain brings back their fundraising team. You can customize the notification by going to Race >> Notifications >> General Settings. Click the Fundraiser Team Brought Back notification. You can customize the content and layout of the notification. Furthermore, you can choose who receives the notification. This notification helps team captains reduce churn and get last year’s team members signed up.

External IDs

Team Fundraisers follow the same External ID pattern and logic as explained in the Bring Back My Individual Fundraiser blog. Note that unlinke Individual Fundraisers, your event must manually enable Bring Back Team Fundraisers. As a result, only fundraising teams brought back after enabling this setting will have auto-generated External IDs.
