The Phillies 5K opened last week for a quick sell out. Once again, RunSignup proved to be FAST!
Some of the key stats from their opening at 10:00AM:
- 19 Seconds – Fastest registration completed at 10:00:19AM.
- 136 Registrations in First Minute
- 896 Registrations in First Two Minutes
- 1,216 Registrations in Third Minute – 10:02 – 10:03.
- 29,000 Page Views per minute peak.
Here are the per minute registrations across the entire platform:

Signing up on RunSignup is Fast – And People Love It!
This reinforces a common theme we hear anecdotally from Race Directors and when we talk to runners – they love how fast it is to signup on RunSignup. Most people who run multiple races already have a RunSignup account, so they have their address, shirt size, emergency contact and credit card saved.
Infrastructure Built to Perform Fast
It was also interesting to see how the RunSignup infrastructure responded. We were running our normal infrastructure and saw a peak of about 30% load across the key components. We want to always be ready for bursts of activity, and have designed the normal infrastructure to easily handle over 2,000 registrations per minute. As we explained in our Thanksgiving Infrastructure Report, we can also scale well beyond that.

Summary
RunSignup infrastructure is designed to be fast even under the largest loads from events. Whether that is web traffic or real transactions, we are ready to make our event customers look good to their participants.
