Share Your Interactive Course Maps

Races offering RunSignup’s RaceJoy mobile tracking and cheer sending can now publicly share their official interactive course map built in RaceJoy. Race organizers are able to post their official course maps on websites, through emails, or on social media sites like Facebook.

What makes RaceJoy’s map tool unique is its responsive nature versus being a static PDF or image. People are able to view the course from different perspectives; zoom in and out to focus on different points on the course, view in satellite or map view, and use Google’s street view.

In addition, the race can include pop up markers all along and around the course to promote key location points like Start and Finish, local sponsors, entertainment along the course, and other services being provided by the race. Each marker is clickable and can include a logo or image, content and links to websites. Some popular examples include:

  • Start
  • Finish
  • Individual Mile Markers
  • Water Stops
  • Parking
  • Medic tents
  • Expo and Packet Pickup
  • Hotels and Lodging
  • Local Sponsors
  • Spectator Zones
  • Entertainment Locations
  • Awards Ceremony

This new feature allows races to manage their course maps from one location and easily modify the map at any time. Races that use RaceJoy in consecutive years can have the previous year’s map automatically copied forward for the new year to use as a foundation to start from. All previous years’ RaceJoy maps are retained.

Those races using RunSignup’s web templates and RaceJoy will have the interactive course map they built for RaceJoy appear on their RunSignUp race web page.

Then, share the map as a URL in emails, social media posts and on your website. You can also imbed a web widget on your race website to display the map directly to participants and spectators looking for course information on your site. Sharing will occur automatically for races using RunSignup’s web templates.
