RunSignup AI Assistant
The RunSignup AI Assistant is built directly into the race setup and website-building tools, enabling race directors to generate and edit polished content without ever leaving the platform.
- Race Descriptions & Renewal — Generate complete race descriptions from a simple prompt during race setup, or quickly update last year’s content for renewals by highlighting and editing only the sections that need to change.
- Website Builder Integration — Available throughout the Websites V2 builder in text components like FAQs, cards, and more — create new content, rewrite existing text, and maintain a consistent voice across your entire site.
- Targeted Editing — Highlight any portion of text and instruct the AI to revise just that section, keeping the rest of your content intact.

RunSignup AI for Vibe Coding
RunSignup AI for Vibe Coding enables customers to use the RunSignup platform for custom applications, public-facing pages such as top fundraiser lists, and custom reports within the RunSignup dashboard, using AI tools like v0 and Cursor.
- Implemented securely via Open API and OAuth2
- AI & Code Generation Friendly: Tools like v0.dev, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI’s GPT models can directly consume the OpenAPI spec. This allows AI-based systems to understand our endpoints, request parameters, and response formats, enabling them to auto-generate code, UI components, and entire workflows with minimal manual coding.
- Secure Delegated Access: Applications can request granular permissions to access specific parts of a user’s RunSignup data, without requiring users to share account credentials.

How RunSignup AI is Structured
RunSignup AI is organized around two types of agents, each designed for a different user and different level of access.
- Public Access — handles participant-facing questions with no login required. The AI Chatbot is the first application built on this layer. It answers questions based on your race website content and live event data, available directly on your Website V2. Future Public Agent capabilities will include AI-assisted replies on contact forms and email inquiries.
- Dashboard Agent — handles authenticated actions for race directors, accessed from within the RunSignup dashboard. Because this agent can read and write to your race data, it operates with stricter security controls: human approval is required before any destructive or irreversible action is taken, all actions are logged and auditable, and access is scoped to only the tools relevant to a given task. Early applications will include creating coupons, pulling registration trend data, and other dashboard actions that today require navigating multiple menus.
Both agents are built on the same underlying infrastructure — RunSignup’s own AWS environment — with tenant isolation, JWT-scoped tool access, and multi-layer security that ensures no single point of failure.
RunSignup’s MCP Server
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI tools to external systems. RunSignup has an MCP server with approximately 40 tools defined, built on, our own AWS infrastructure.
There are two types of MCP access in development:
- Public Access — for race information, event search, and results data that doesn’t require login. This is the foundation for making RunSignup events discoverable inside AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini.
- Authenticated Access — for race directors who want to interact with their own dashboard data through an AI tool. This requires OAuth-based login and follows the same security model as the RunSignup API.
MCP tools are not yet publicly released. We will be rolling them out in 2026 as the infrastructure and security framework matures.
