We just got back from New Orleans, and the 61st Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Convention! RunSignup’s history sponsoring the RRCA Convention goes back so far that no one is *entirely* sure what year it began, but we believe it was 2010 or 2011, when the company was in its infancy. Fun fact: it was Marlise, Bob’s wife, who first made the connection with RRCA Executive Director Jean Knaack.
We are terrible at at taking photos at conference, so all but the first of these great event photos are courtesy of the RRCA Facebook page and photographer RicoPhotoDFW. A few highlights:
The iconic morning run, with some great views along the Mississippi river and through the French Quarter. We’d tell you who we ran with, but we aren’t morning people so all we remember is that we were there.

A creative scavenger hunt walk to Port Orleans Brewing, complete with battles between regions and possible cheating. Once at the brewery, we got to hang out with a chicken AND representatives from the Memphis Runners Track Club, as well as meet the President of the Macon Running Tracks Running Club.

Throughout the convention, club leaders and race directors attended general sessions and breakouts on a wide variety of topics, including club governance, event and club logistics, and marketing. Extra shout-out to customers from the Oregon Road Runners Club, the Crescent City Classic 10K for their presentations!
The convention closed out on Saturday night with it’s always-anticipated silent auction and awards dinner. We enjoyed watching the festivities with long-time RunSignup customers from the Maine Track Club, and a fellow Philadelphia-area attendee from the Ambler Area Running Club.

For us, the best part of the RRCA Convention is always catching up with customers and getting feedback from them – thanks to every single person who stopped by to say hello, praised our work, or complained about features. We’ll see you next year in Portland!
