This week we shipped 59 releases, adding 17,012 lines of code and removing 3,112 lines as we continue to improve and simplify the platform. On the EventDay side, we shipped another 9 releases across TicketCheckIn and RaceDay Scoring, adding 2,734 lines of code and removing 310 lines.
This was a week of practical, race-director-requested improvements: custom watermarks on your race photos, a waiver status column for ticket events, direct links to a single ticket type, ready-made volunteer email templates, and QR codes for membership organizations. Underneath those, we kept chipping away at speed, security and polish across the platform, and TicketCheckIn got one of its biggest releases of the year for timed-entry events.
Race Photos
Custom Watermarks for Race Photos
You can now upload your own image to use as a watermark on your race photos, placed in the lower-left or lower-right corner, instead of being limited to your race logo or a sponsor logo. Saved watermarks can be reused across event days and removed when you no longer need them, so a title sponsor or a custom branded mark can appear on every photo your participants share.

Direct Links to Individual Photos
The Photos dashboard now supports a link to a specific photo, with a “Copy Link to Photo” button and the bib number field ready to type into when you arrive. If a participant tells you their bib was tagged wrong, you or a teammate can jump straight to that photo instead of scrolling through thousands to find it.
TicketSignup and Ticket Events
Attendee Waivers Signed Column in Ticket Reports
The Individual Tickets and Ticket Purchases reports now have an optional “Attendee Waivers Signed” column that shows, per ticket or per purchase, whether the required individual waivers have been signed. Each entry links to the filtered Waiver Agreements report, so you can see at a glance who still owes a signature before the doors open.
Direct Links to a Single Ticket Type
For timed-entry ticket events, the tickets setup page now has a “Copy Direct Link to Ticket Type” button, and each ticket’s edit page offers a “This Ticket Only” private link alongside the all-tickets link. This has been a frequent support request from organizers who want to send a sponsor, a group or a VIP list straight to one ticket without showing everything else.
Reusable Designs for Date Driven Tiles
The Date Driven Tiles component in the TicketSignup Website Builder now works the same way the Time Slot Calendar does: you create a design once and assign it to as many customized dates as you like, rather than re-styling each date by hand. Existing customized tiles were converted into designs automatically, so nothing changes on your site until you decide to edit it.
Faster Pages for Timed-Entry Events With Many Prices
Ticket events with a large number of time slots and per-slot pricing were loading noticeably slowly on the event homepage and calendar. We reworked how prices are looked up so those pages load much faster, which matters most for seasonal attractions selling thousands of tickets a day.
Volunteer V2
Two more improvements landed this week as part of our Volunteer V2 beta.
Prebuilt Volunteer Email Templates
Standalone volunteer events now have six ready-made email templates in three categories: Reminders, Thank You and Recruitment. They use volunteer-specific placeholders and live under a new Templates menu on the volunteer event email dashboard, so you can send a polished reminder or thank-you note in a couple of clicks instead of starting from a blank page.

Group Volunteer Sign-Ups
When you enable it on a task, a volunteer can sign up and tell you how many additional people they are bringing, such as a coach bringing five helpers from the team. Those extra people count toward the task’s capacity, so your volunteer counts stay accurate without making every helper create their own account.
Results and Timing
Hide the Race Progress Bar When Timing Is Done
Timers using RaceDay Scoring can now tell RunSignup to hide the live Race Progress bar on the public results page once they have finished timing. Chip-start races in particular no longer show a progress bar that looks like finishers are still out on the course after everyone is home.
Custom Results Pages Now Linked on the Results Overview
Races that use a custom results page, such as results uploaded in an older format, previously showed as “No results available” on the results overview page. Those pages now appear as tiles with a working “View Results” link, so participants can find them without hunting.
Faster Results Search Suggestions
Typing a name or city into the results search was slow for large races. The suggestions that appear as you type are now generated much more efficiently, so participants find themselves faster on race day.
Results API Performance and a New API Change Log
For timers and partners who pull results into their own tools, finisher counts by division are now calculated in a single pass and cached, which speeds up results requests for races with many divisions. Very large requests that span many result sets are now capped at 2,500 results with a clear message to request one result set at a time, which protects everyone’s results pages from slowdowns. We also published a public API Change Log where integrators can see upcoming deprecations and breaking changes in one place.
RaceJoy Setup Link in the Timer Dashboard
Races with RaceJoy enabled now have a “RaceJoy Setup” option in the Actions menu of the Timer Dashboard race list, taking you straight to the course map and settings without digging through the race dashboard.
Clearer Error Messages When Submitting Support Tickets From RaceDay Scoring
When a support ticket submitted from inside RaceDay Scoring is rejected, you now see exactly which field needs attention instead of a generic failure message, so you can fix it and get help faster.
EventDay Highlights
It was a big week for the apps timers and event staff use on race day, especially TicketCheckIn for timed-entry events and RaceDay Scoring 6.0.10. The full details are in this week’s EventDay Product Updates post. Not all of these updates may be available to you yet: EventDay apps ship on a version release schedule, and the mobile apps also go through Apple App Store and Google Play review, so some items may reach you in an upcoming release.
TicketCheckIn
- You can assign a color to each timeslot and ticket level, and scanned tickets display that color so door staff can match a ticket to the right wristband or entry line at a glance.
- A new optional view groups tickets under their timeslot, purchases get a phone-friendly card view, and time filters can follow the device clock so volunteers always see the right tickets as the day goes on.
- Organizers can highlight an important custom question, such as an accessibility need, so the answer is called out prominently at check-in, and active date and time filters now appear as pills you can clear with a tap.
- A Square card payment error on Android was fixed, the Square payment software was updated on iPhone and iPad, and a batch of smaller touches landed, including automatic PIN submission and clearer ticket labels.
RaceDay Scoring
- Participant corrections to age, bib, gender, name or hometown made after results are published now flow through to RunSignup results on the next automatic save, with no republish needed.
- The Awards tab on Race Statistics keeps a stable order as reads stream in, follows your configured age group sequence, and no longer shows empty rows for categories you set to zero winners.
- RaceDay Scoring now checks your RaceJoy course mapping and tells you exactly which course point or segment does not line up before runners and spectators depend on live tracking.
- Deleting reports or result sets now cleans up the related RunSignup result sets, divisions and team results, the Replay button is disabled until reads can actually arrive, and AthleticLIVE exports for cross country are correctly aligned.
Security and Privacy
Protecting Young Participants in Results Search
First names of participants under 13 are already shortened in public results to comply with children’s privacy rules. The results search and its suggestions now respect that too, so a young participant can no longer be found by typing their full first name. Participants whose own account is set to private are also excluded from search suggestions.
CheckIn App Password Change History
The CheckIn App setup pages for races and ticket events now show a “Password Change History” table listing who set or changed the check-in password and when. The password itself is never stored in the history, but if a password changes unexpectedly before an event, you can now see exactly who did it.
Protection Against Malicious Redirect Links
Following our 2026 penetration testing, we closed several tricks that could have been used to craft a RunSignup link that bounces a visitor to an outside website, and fixed a small issue on the photo upload page. These protect your participants from phishing-style links that appear to come from your race.
Marketing, Websites and Text Messaging
Smoother Toll-Free Verification for Advanced SMS
Carriers sometimes reject toll-free texting verification when a race’s public brand name differs from its legal business name. The Advanced SMS verification request now includes an optional “Doing Business As” field, uses your brand name consistently in the sample message and opt-in page, and refreshes the opt-in screenshot when you resubmit, so more races get approved the first time.
Facebook Pixel Tracking Restored for Long Pixel IDs
Races with newer, longer Facebook Pixel IDs were silently not recording page views, checkouts, purchases or donations in Meta Ads. That is fixed, so if your Facebook ad reporting looked empty recently, your conversions should be flowing again.
Video Banners on Organization Websites Load Cleanly
Membership organization and organization websites with a video homepage banner no longer flash an unrelated stock image before the video starts; the poster image you configured is shown instead, matching how race and ticket event websites already behave.
Refreshed Partner Email List Setup
For timing partners building email lists across their races, the New List page has been reorganized: your races and custom list uploads are now collapsible sections, each race shows how many events are selected, and events display their start dates, making it quicker to build the right list.
Memberships and Integrations
QR Codes and Text-to-Join Links for Membership Organizations
Membership organizations now have a “QR Codes & Links” page under the Promotions menu with QR codes and text-to-join keywords for joining, your homepage, donations, your store and claiming accounts. Print one on a flyer or put it on a screen at an event and new members can join from their phone in seconds. Races also get a text-enabled QR code for claiming accounts.
USAC License Reminder Emails Restored
The daily reminder emails that go to registrants of USA Cycling sanctioned events about their license had stopped sending because of an error. They are back, and now go only to participants of sanctioned events.
Membership Date Validation Fix
When someone selected a yearly membership with an unusual start date during registration, the check that prevents a membership from being entirely in the past could misfire. It now evaluates the dates correctly and shows the right message.
Payments and Financial
Apple Pay Noted on Transaction Receipts
Transaction receipts now say when a purchase was paid with Apple Pay. This helps participants reconcile their statements and helps our support team verify account ownership faster when someone writes in about a charge.
“TicketSignup” on Card Statements for Ticket Purchases
Ticket purchases made through TicketSignup now show “TicketSignup” rather than “RunSignup” as the billing descriptor when the card is charged. Ticket buyers who never think of themselves as runners are less likely to be confused by their statement, which should mean fewer chargebacks for ticket events.
More Reliable Fundraiser Refunds
A rare case involving transferred registrations with offline payments could stall the queue that processes fundraiser refunds. That case is now handled gracefully, so refunds keep moving for everyone.
Design, Accessibility and Performance Polish
Tidier Find a Race Results
Race tiles on the public Find a Race page now use shorter logos and banners with tighter spacing, so more races fit on screen and the page looks consistent, and the Clear Filters button in the filters popup is no longer clipped.
Better Keyboard and Screen Reader Support for Pop-Ups
When a pop-up dialog opens anywhere on the site, focus now lands on the dialog itself rather than its close button. Screen reader users hear the title first, and the first keystroke no longer accidentally closes the window.
Consistent Buttons Across the Platform
We cleaned up dozens of buttons across dashboards and admin pages so they share the same colors, hover and focus styles. Nothing changes in how they work; they just look and behave the way you expect everywhere.
Cleaner Revenue by Event Chart
The Revenue by Event report on the race dashboard was rebuilt with our standard charting tools, giving you a cleaner doughnut chart with dollar values on hover.
Faster Profile Pages
The user profile page’s search for unclaimed results was slow for people with common names. It now narrows by date of birth first, cutting load times noticeably for those users.
Updated Payment Account Graphics
The payment account setup and completed panels across the race wizard, ticket events, volunteer events, donation websites and organization dashboards got a fresh graphic to match the rest of the design.
Behind the Scenes: Building Faster With AI
Many of this week’s releases, from the pricing speedup for timed-entry events to the results search improvements and the site-wide button cleanup, were built, tested or reviewed with help from AI coding tools. Our engineers are using them to explore multiple approaches to a tricky performance problem, generate test coverage, and sweep the whole codebase for inconsistencies that would take days to find by hand.
We are also continuing to invest in documentation that makes our own platform easier for those tools to work with safely, which means improvements like these keep arriving faster and with fewer surprises for you.
As always, if you have ideas for what we should build next, let us know.
