We are opening up a Limited Beta program for the new Volunteer V2 to RunSignup customers. Please contact your RunSignup representative to get on the Beta list. We expect to have general availability this fall.
Volunteer V2 is a new product, no longer buried within a Race Dashboard. Customers can set up multiple Volunteer Events. Volunteer events can be tied to both RunSignup and Ticket Signup events. And a single Volunteer event can be used to tie to multilple races and ticket events for full flexibility.
Volunteer events have a full dashboard, loaded with features:
Quick Dashboard Reports
The front page of the dashboard has a quick view of volunteer status as shown above. It also has a report for Critical Gaps in volunteer coverage as shown below. There will be more high level reports added over time, as well as RunSignup AI Insights.
Event Setup
This area has high level information like description (with RunSignup AI Assistant to help you write your content as well as create volunteer waivers), location, contact, waivers, secure access for multiple volunteer directors, and publish settings (draft and private modes available).
Free Website
Our easy to use and powerful Website Builder is also available. This allows a single website to host all your content and instructions for volunteers, as well as makes it simple to signup.
Easy Signup – for Multiple Volunteer Tasks
Signup now supports multiple events for individuals.
If you are signed into RunSignup and have multiple sub-accounts for family, it is easy to to assign them to some of the tasks:
Password NOT Required
You can choose to not require volunteers to create accounts with passwords. This works the same way our TicketSignup product does, where volunteers can go back and manage their tasks by entering in their email and getting a link back to click on to a self serve management page. This makes for quick signup, as well as the flexibility to change tasks if they need to (and the director permits that).
Powerful Volunteer Categories and Tasks
Add unlimited Volunteer Tasks, and organize them into Categories. And easy to reorder them (this also reorders their display when people are signing up to volunteer as well as reports).
Category Coordinators
One or more Coordinators can be added to categories. They can then see and communicate with the volunteers in that category. This allows for Water Stop leaders and Packet Pickup leaders, etc.
Volunteer Task Setup with Powerful, Flexible Options
A large variety of settings and options:
- Title
- Priority
- Password Protected so only people who you have given the password to can signup — great for groups.
- Detailed Information and Locations
- Age Limits
- Public Task or Private Task — again great for groups
- Timeslots with Minimum and Maximum Volunteers needed for each timeslot
Easy to View Large Lists of Categories and Tasks
Quick collapse and expand arrows on the right allow for simpler viewing. Also easy to add, edit, and delete.
Information Collection
Easily specify what information you want from volunteers doing the signup as well as additional people they might be signing up with them.
Import — Manual or Spreadsheets
Easily import participants either manually or with a spreadsheet.
Free Email
Our flexible and powerful Email V2 is also included for free. Import unlimited email addresses and send unlimited emails all for free. Note that our Volunteer product is meant for our event customers, and not meant for the general public.

Reporting
Quick and easy reporting with nice color goal meters.
Detailed Volunteer reports are also available. This reporting uses our powerful new reporting framework used in Tickets and Memberships so you can save reports.
We are also working on a number of additional reports that will roll out as we approach full launch.
Questions
Not available at initial Beta, we expect to soon release the same modern Questions capabilities we have on TicketSignup and Memberships (and coming to Races in early 2027).
Connecting to Race and Ticket Events
This is also not quite available yet. We plan on a loose connection — meaning it will create links on the primary event and the volunteer event to each other. This can be done manually of course.
Who is The RunSignup Volunteer Product For?
Since this is a free product, it is meant for only our customers. For the most part, these are paying customers. However with proper approval from your RunSignup representative, we will allow for others in certain situations like complete nonprofits or organizations who are thinking about using RunSignup products. Summary
We are very excited to bring this major upgrade in Volunteer capabilities to our customers. This is part of our long term strategy to continually modernize our platform with our V2 generation of products. Our customers have benefited from past major upgrades like Websites V2, Email V2, Memberships V2. We are looking forward to rolling out Results V2, Questions V2, Store V2 and Coupons V2 in late 2026 and 2027 to all RunSignup customers along with our continuous improvement efforts across the platform.
