We have two development interns who joined us this summer, Heena Surve and Ben Faria. We have had great success with our intern program in the past, with over a half dozen people learning and growing their technical skills at RunSignup in our advanced development environment. Three of those interns actually wound up working full time at RunSignup after graduation – so the whole RunSignup community has gotten a lot of great benefits from this program over the years!

Heena is currently in the RIT Computer Science Engineering program as a Masters student. After graduating with a degree in Computer Engineering from the Modern Education Society’s College of Engineering in Pune, India, she worked as a software engineer for Persistent Systems. While at RIT she also interned at eLogic. This diverse background has given her hands on experience in a wide variety of development technologies and methodologies. She will be working on a variety of projects on the core RunSignup service, including a revamp of our race search that participants use to find a race.

Ben is a rising senior at University of Central Florida where he is majoring in Computer Science. He was a systems engineering intern with Lockheed Martin the past year. He also has done a number of interesting projects like building a smart array and skip list as well as a Bluetooth smart home lock. Ben is joining our Race Day Scoring development team in Orlando. He actually started part time a couple of months ago and has already contributed the the Age Group setup, Reporting, and real-time display and output of results in various formats.
