Event Type Recipient Lists for Automated Registration Follow Up Emails

Events use RunSignup’s free automated emails to seamlessly set up abandoned cart reminders, price increase, and drip campaigns. Now races can set up segmented drip campaigns with event type recipient lists for automated registration follow up emails. For example, set up separate drip campaigns for the 8k Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk.

To set up a targeted drip campaign, navigate to Email Marketing V2 >> Automated Emails. Enable the Registration Followup automated email. Select your desired schedule (i.e. 3 days after signing up), and click save. Then click edit.


By default, the automated registration followup email goes to all participants. Click the edit icon next to recipients. Then click Advanced Event Selection to view participant lists by event type. Note that since this is the registration followup email, only current participants by event are available.

Click Clear next to Current Participants to void the default selection. Then choose list recipients by event type (for example, 8K) and click Save.

You can then customize the email content that you are sending by choosing a new template, one of RunSignup’s pre-built emails, or editing the existing email. Click Save Automated Email at any point to save all of your changes to your drip campaign.
