We have released a new participant management feature that will allow participants to receive a refund when someone else takes their place. This is particularly useful for sell out races with a waitlist. A good example is a race may be sold out, but there are 1,000 people on the waitlist eager to get in. The race can allow registered participants to request a refund – which essentially puts their registration opening onto the next person from the Waitlist. A race can set a partial refund – thus increasing revenue AND making two people happy!
The option is clearly displayed on your race website with your own custom text:
Refunds are processed only when the next person registers. We bulk process the refunds for the previous day at 5:30AM Eastern (so you may show both people registered for a while on your participant reports).
We have also given you a new conditional refunds report:
Note that you want to set up a Refund Reserve to ensure this works smoothly. This feature works best when a race is sold out and a waitlist is enabled.
