We are excited to announce a recently “retired” software expert that will be joining RunSignup on a part-time basis. To welcome Jon our development team and give him the opportunity to tell his story, we spent some time learning more about him both personally and professionally.
Where are you from, and where do you currently reside?
I am from Cherry Hill, NJ and currently reside there as well.
What will be your job title at RunSignup, and what will be your responsibilities (be as specific as possible)?
Software Engineer, working on the platform by writing code to address both bugs and features.
Please share additional details about your past work experience, your education and/or training, and any notable professional skills.
I have a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins and a Bachelor’s from Rutgers. I’ve worked on the Data Flow Cloud Service and Verrazzano Kubernetes Platform at Oracle, Hadoop services at Hortonworks, and J2EE application servers at HP/Bluestone.
What are you most looking forward to in joining the RunSignup team?
Contributing to an exciting application and working with an enthusiastic and motivated team.
Tell us about your hobbies and interests, and what you like to do for fun outside of work.
I like to stay active so I workout, hike, and have started playing pickleball 
. I also enjoy watching soccer, primarily the British Premier League.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I spent a portion of my childhood in Israel!
