We are excited to announce the return of the RunSignup Community Grant Program for 2026!
The Community Grant returns after a COVID-triggered hiatus to give back to the endurance community. How? The Community Grant supports endurance-related nonprofit organizations. In 2026, $10,000 is available to be granted; this can be awarded to a single applicant or divided between up to five organizations.
The RunSignup Community Grant supports nonprofit organizations that promote the endurance industry. This means that the grant is for an organization with a main purpose that directly supports the endurance community, not that it uses a running event to raise money. Examples of previous awardees include Marathon Kids, Start the Cycle, and Athletes Serving Athletes. Anyone can nominate an organization provided they can supply the EIN number and basic information about the organization.
Requirements for RunSignup Community Grant applicants include:
- Must not have been awarded OR must not have received RunSignup’s Community Grant award within the last three years. This means 2026 winners will be ineligible to reapply until 2030.
- Must be a 501(c)3 Non-Profit and be able to provide their EIN.
- Must have an endurance-related central mission.
- This means that the organization’s main purpose directly supports the endurance community, not that it uses a running event to raise money. A race alone is not eligible.
- Must have a nomination application completed. An organization can be nominated by more than one person; however, this dos not increase the chances of award for the organization.
Why is RunSignup Offering a Community Grant?
As an employee owned company that is profitable, we believe it is important to share our success between our employees, customers, and the running community. It’s the same reason that we believe that giving our customers free technology (like event websites, email, real-time results, photos, and the beta AI Chatbot) helps our event customers to succeed. Likewise, the RunSignup Community grant is intended to share some profits to invest in the long-term health of the endurance community. It’s important to split our growing pie fairly and in a way that promotes future growth for us all.
Applications for the 2026 RunSignup Community Grant are now open. The deadline to apply is 12/31/2025, with awardees to be announced at the Running USA Conference on 2/1/2026.
