Introducing the AI Chatbot Page Component

Note: The RunSignup AI Chatbot is currently in beta. This post describes functionality that will be available once the chatbot is open to all customers, as well as details for current beta users.

When you turn on the RunSignup AI Chatbot, a custom page is automatically created on your Website V2 site. This page is built using Website V2 components, giving you the flexibility to decide how it looks and functions. Furthermore, the unique URL for the chatbot makes it easy to embed in Email campaigns, social media, and external websites.


How It Works

  • As soon as you enable the chatbot, a new custom page is automatically added to your Website V2 site.
  • The page includes the chatbot by default, but you can choose to hide the page if you don’t want it visible.
  • You can customize the page by adding other components, like the FAQ Component, images, text blocks, or registration links.

This means the chatbot page can be more than just a chatbot, it can become a full self-service support page for your participants.


How This Differs from the Chatbot Popup

The Chatbot Popup and the Chatbot Page Component are designed to work together, but they serve different purposes:

  • Popup Chatbot
    • Appears in the bottom-right corner of most Website V2 pages.
    • Moves with participants as they browse your site.
    • Perfect for quick, on-the-spot questions without leaving the page.
  • Page Component
    • Embedded directly on a dedicated page (or any page you choose).
    • Can be customized with FAQs, registration links, or other content.
    • Perfect for creating a central self-service hub that you can link to from emails, social posts, or an external race website.

Together, the popup offers always-available convenience, while the page component creates a customized destination for participant support.

Helpful for Races with Their Own Websites

For races that already maintain their own standalone websites, this feature makes it easy to integrate the chatbot without rebuilding your site:

  • Share the link to your RunSignup chatbot page directly from your race website.
  • Give participants a single place to ask questions and check FAQs.
  • Direct them back to your main website once they’ve gotten the answers they need.

Great for Marketing Emails

The chatbot page also provides a dedicated URL, making it perfect for marketing emails.

  • Add a button like “Have Questions? Ask the AI Chatbot” to your emails.
  • Give participants one-click access to FAQs and chatbot support.
  • Reduce repetitive emails by encouraging self-service first.

Important Note for Current Beta Users

If you are already in the beta program, this new page will not appear automatically. Instead, you’ll need to create one using the AI Chatbot component in the Website V2 Page Builder. Once created, you’ll have the same customization options as new users.
