Your peer-to-peer fundraisers work hard to share their pages. When a donor lands there and taps the wrong Donate button, that gift becomes a general donation and the fundraiser loses the credit.
Travis Manion Foundation spotted the problem. Donors on an individual fundraising page were clicking the main Donate button in the race website header instead of the fundraiser’s own Donate button, and it happened more on phones than on desktop. Donors assumed the header button would credit the fundraiser they came to support. It didn’t.
Now it does.
When a donor views an individual fundraising page, the Donate button in the site header links to that fundraiser’s donation page. The donation gets attributed to the right fundraiser no matter which Donate button the donor taps.
Why we made it smarter instead of hiding it
Hiding the event’s Donate button on fundraiser pages was the obvious fix, but it costs you something. Travis Manion Foundation still wanted a clear path for general donations, and they didn’t want to force every donor to choose a fundraiser first. So we kept the button and taught it to read the page it’s on.
On your main event website, the header Donate button still goes to your general donation page. On a fundraiser’s page, it goes to that fundraiser’s donation page. Race directors who would rather remove the header Donate button entirely can still do that under Donation >> Setup >> Advanced Settings.
