RunSignup Awards 2017 Community Grant

RunSignup has announced the awardees of the 2017 RunSignup Community Grant Program, a giving program that provides a financial contribution to endurance-related nonprofit organizations. In its second year, the program received applications from 129 highly deserving charitable organizations. A team at RunSignup narrowed the field to 10 finalists; the final award decision was made by the RunSignup Customer Advisory Board. The total grant amount was increased from $10,000 to $11,000 to account for a tie in the voting process.

The 2017 Community Grant Awardees are:

$4,000: Tri 4 Schools, Verona WI
$2,000: Airborne Tri Team
$2,000: Bel Inizio, Houston TX
$2,000: Chester Cheetah’s Track Club, Chester PA
$1,000: Athletes Serving Athletes, Lutherville MD

As an industry, endurance events fundraise for a myriad of causes and charities through races, fun runs, walks, bike rides, and more. The RunSignup Community Grant Program is an annual program focused on giving back to the industry that gives so much by recognizing organizations that support runners and other endurance athletes – I.E., those that fund youth running programs, provide training funds, purchase needed attire and equipment for athletes, or create endurance programs to help people build better lives. Applications for the 2018 award will be released in Spring 2018, and will be announced via the RunSignup blog.
