Getting Started on the Dashboard
The webinar begins with a refresher on navigating the RunSignup dashboard—how to access your race, find features using the Menu Search Tool, and use the “Show More” dropdown to reveal hidden options. What is Website V2?
Website V2 is the next generation of RunSignup’s built-in website system. Compared to the legacy website builder, V2 provides a modern, drag-and-drop design experience with more flexibility for layouts, themes, and custom pages—all while automatically pulling data from your RunSignup event.
- Free to Use: There are no added fees for hosting or maintenance. 
- Future-Focused: Website V2 will continue to be developed and expanded, making it the long-term solution for all events. 
- Recommended for Everyone: Whether you’re creating a new site or upgrading from the old version, Website V2 ensures your race website stays current and cohesive. 
Enabling Website V2
Race directors can activate Website V2 from their Race Dashboard → Race Website → Website Settings. Once enabled, users can toggle between the legacy website and Website V2 during setup—but Whitney strongly recommends finalizing your design in V2 before going live.
When switching over, RunSignup automatically transfers key details such as:
- Event name and description 
- Donation pages 
- Info and signup pages 
- Color scheme and logo from your race wizard setup 
Custom content (like custom pages or banners) will need to be rebuilt manually.
Branding and Customization
Website V2’s Theme Editor makes it easy to create a polished, branded experience:
- Upload a logo and favicon 
- Choose or define a custom color palette using the color picker 
- Add homepage and page banners with flexible text overlay and layout options 
- Edit your footer to include links, custom text, and social media icons for brand credibility and connection 
Pages and Navigation
The right-hand panel in the Website Builder displays all your pages and menu items. Users can:
- Create new pages, system pages, dropdowns, or external links 
- Choose between System Pages (which pull existing RunSignup data like results, team info, or donations) and New Pages (custom content you create from scratch) 
- Control SEO settings for each page to maximize visibility in Google searches (RunSignup’s built-in SEO ranks event pages very highly) 
Content and Layout Tools
Within each page, organizers can add customizable sections to organize text, images, and data components.
- Components include images, videos, playlists, buttons, and formatted text. 
- Use content cards for a clean visual layout that links to other pages or external URLs. 
- Embed multimedia like YouTube videos or Spotify playlists. 
- Integrate data widgets to display teams, top donors, or upcoming events directly from your race data. 
Whitney also demonstrates adding custom sections (like a course map image and countdown clock) and emphasizes saving progress frequently to ensure updates are published.
Integration and Performance
Website V2 supports:
- Embedded Strava routes for endurance events 
- Displaying multiple races or tickets using event IDs
