AI App for Multi-Location Time Syncing for Races

We’ve been talking about using v0.dev to develop and easily deploy AI powered applications. Dave Hunt, one of our support engineers who helps timers (and a timer himself) decided to create an app that allows multiple locations to sync the exact same time. He spent about an hour to get a basic version running, and then another 10 hours as he started adding features and could not help himself, it was so fun.

For example, you might have a half marathon and want a person to read splits at each mile. This is a requirement in many timed races. It is also super cool for Ultra and Trail races where there might be a point to point race and all of the checkpoints can be in exact sync.

With this app, a person at the start of the race can start the timer, and then share that exact time with anyone, anywhere with a simple URL that can open in any browser. Here is a screenshot showing the app on a computer and on an iPhone.

You can try the app here – https://crosswatch.vercel.app/.

Simply click the green button “Create New Crosswatch”. It will create a custom URL for each time you want to share:

Just copy and paste the URL and share it with anyone. When you click Start, it will start running and others will also see the exact same time:

You can have multiple watches running in one shared screen. It also supports splits.

This is a free and open application. We will soon add it to our AI library so others can fork it and create their own versions.
