We are excited to welcome Natalie Raborn to the RunSignup team! To introduce Natalie to our RunSignup community and give her the opportunity to tell her story, we asked Natalie a few questions about her personal and professional life. Read on to get to know Natalie!
Where are you from, and where do you currently reside?
I am from Brisbane, Australia. Today, I live in Evergreen, Colorado.
What will be your job title at RunSignup, and what will be your responsibilities?
I will be supporting races as an Account Manager.
Please share additional details about your past work experience, your education and/or training, and any notable professional skills.
I’ve spent the last five years with Shift Events (Team Evergreen) in various roles that come with the ‘all-hands-on-deck’ nature of events, including serving as Race Director for the Triple Bypass and the Beti Bike Bash. Prior to that, I built an extensive background executing large-scale events in the university setting. Outside of event management, I’m a coach with a wonderful roster of clients I help to reach their cycling and fitness goals. I hold a Business degree from the University of Denver and an MBA from Illinois State University. I’m also a certified mediator—which, thankfully, is not needed too often! 😉
What are you most looking forward to in joining the RunSignup team?
I’ve always been impressed by the RSU software from a user perspective, so I’m thrilled to now be behind the scenes helping others benefit from it! Beyond the product, I was really drawn to the company culture. I’m looking forward to tackling new challenges alongside such a talented and supportive group of people.
Tell us about your hobbies and interests, and what you like to do for fun outside of work.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on two wheels! I love spending time on my bikes—especially my mountain bike. In the winter months, I stay active by snowboarding and fat biking. My favorite way to recharge, however, is a simple walk with my husband and our two rescue pups.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I moved to the U.S. at 18 on a basketball scholarship, but during my freshman year, I was spotted by the track coach while out for a run. Being about a foot taller than most of the other runners, I wasn’t hard to miss! I ended up doing a ‘scholarship switcheroo’ and spent two years competing in cross country and track before eventually finding my way back to the basketball court for my final two years at the University of Denver.
