Many races have multiple charity partners and complex fundraising set ups. RunSignup’s integrated fundraising and donations solution is now even more flexible with the ability to enable fundraising, donations, and charities on a per event basis.
In this use case, the race has a 5K and 10K, as well as charity bibs for each race. The race wants to:
- Ask for donations to Charity A, B, C, or D when a participant signs up for any event.
- Force fundraising for the 5K Charity Bib and 10K Charity Bib events.
- 5K Charity Bib participants can choose to fundraise for Charity A, Charity B, or Charity C.
- 10K Charity Bib participants can only fundraise for Charity D.
- 5K and 10K participants can make a donation to Charity A, Charity B, Charity C, or Charity D.

Under Donations >> Setup >> Basic Setup, the race will keep donations open for all events, but disable fundraisers for the 5K and 10K events.

5K Charity Bib and 10K Charity Bib participants will be required to fundraise when the register for the event.

Charities A, B, C, and D are set up by going to Donations >> Charities. (Reminder: You can set up direct payments for each of these different charities so that the fundraising and donation dollars go directly to the charity’s bank account).

Charities A, B, and C will appear as a donation-only option for 5K and 10K participants, and 5K Charity Bib Participants will be able to choose to fundraise for Charity A, B, or C:

Charity D shows as a donation-only option for 5K and 10K participants, and all 10K Charity Bib participants will fundraise for Charity D.

When a participant registers for the 5K or 10K, they will have the option to donate to any charity within the registration path.

5K Charity Bib participants will be required to create a fundraiser, with the option to choose which Charity to fundraise for.

10K Charity Bib participants will be required to create a fundraiser, which will be automatically set for Charity D without any other Charity options.

Many races have complex donation and fundraising needs, and this release lets even the most complicated fundraising-focused races take advantage of the benefits of RunSignup’s integrated fundraising and donation platform.
