We’re excited to share some incredible milestones from 2025 that showcase how our RaceDay technology platform has become the industry standard for race day operations. This past year, our integrated suite of tools powered more than 7.3+ million participant check-ins, scored 4.3 million finishers, and delivered millions of real-time interactions to runners and spectators across the country.
RaceDay Technology 2025 By The Numbers
The stats tell an impressive story of how timers, race directors, participants, and spectators are using RaceDay Real-Time technology:
- 7.3+ million participants checked in using the RaceDay CheckIn app
- 4.3 million finishers scored using RaceDay Scoring or The Race Director
- 17+ thousand events scored using RaceDay Scoring or The Race Director
- 5.4+ million progress alerts issued in RaceJoy
- 4+ million photos uploaded through RunSignup’s free RaceDay Photos
- 855,182 cheers sent via RaceJoy
Making Race Day Easier for Timers and Race Directors
Each component of RaceDay Real-Time technology plays a critical role in modern race operations. The RaceDay CheckIn app has revolutionized race day logistics by eliminating pre-race packet pickup lines through dynamic bib assignment, saving hours of work for race organizers and timers.

RaceDay Scoring and The Race Director provide professional-grade scoring tools that handle everything from simple 5Ks to complex multi-day ultra events. With real-time splits, automated data checks, and seamless results publishing, these tools give timers the power and flexibility they need.

Creating Elevated Experiences for Participants
For participants and spectators, RaceJoy delivers real-time progress tracking through GPS technology and chip-based algorithms. The app sends personalized progress alerts and provides positional map tracking that keeps supporters engaged throughout the race. The interactive features allow spectators and organizers to send cheers directly to participants’ phones, creating moments of encouragement exactly when they’re needed most.

Our free photo platform uses AI-powered tagging to automatically match photos with participants within seconds of upload, making race memories instantly accessible and shareable. The RaceDay Mobile Timing App allows timers and organizers to easily capture photos and integrates directly to the RunSignup results platform for viewing alongside results.

A Decade of Innovation
These 2025 numbers are the result of consistent investment in race day technology since 2012. As we detailed in our recent RaceDay History blog post, bringing Roger Bradshaw and The Race Director into the RunSignup family in 2015, along with RaceJoy founder James Harris, has been instrumental in building the most advanced and comprehensive race day technology to the timer and endurance event industry.

The release of RaceDay Scoring V5 in 2025 represented a major milestone, achieving our goal of creating the best modern scoring product in the market.

What’s Next in 2026 for RaceDay Technology
We’re not slowing down. Our roadmap for 2026 includes exciting developments:
- RaceDay Scoring V6
- Next-generation Results platform features, including AI chat capabilities
- Enhanced Mobile Timing app functionality
We’re committed to continuing our partnership with timers and race directors to deliver technology that elevates the race experience and continues to advance as new technology unfolds.
